Daryl McLain
    Conservative. Proven Results!

Daryl and Barbara McLain don't just talk Family Values. They live them. Everyday.  Daryl and Barbara have been married 34 years and have raised two children (their daughter Mandy is engaged to be married next year). Today they share their  homestead on the St. Johns River with horses, dogs and cats. Daryl has maintained a strong association with his rural roots, horseback riding and remaining an avid hunter and fisherman. He is easily recognized by his ever-present cowboy hat, a holdover from his younger days on the rodeo circuit.

Daryl's first job out of college was as a counselor at the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, near Palatka, and more recently he has been active with the Christian Child Caring Association to provide private Christian families to care for newborn babies of women serving time in Florida prisons.  Daryl was a member of the first graduating class of the University of Central Florida, with a degree in Sociology.   Twenty-three years ago, he founded his own successful insurance business, which he continues to operate today.

A fourth-generation Seminole County native, Daryl's family first settled in Seminole County in 1906.  His family has seen our community grow from just a few thousand  residents to more than 300,000; and over the years, Daryl's given tirelessly of his time to safeguard the quality of life that today so many of us enjoy.  He's served as president of the Friends of the St. John's and local Rotary Club.  He's a director of the Central Florida Zoological Society, and the Helen Stairs Theater, and is a member of Friends of the Wekiva..

Daryl's been elected to an unprecedented three consecutive terms as chairman of the Seminole County Commission. He also is serving as vice chairman of MetroPlan Orlando,  director of the Florida Association of Counties, and twice a gubernatorial appointee to the Wekiva River Area Coordinating Committee and the Wekiva River Basin Task Force
